Thanks to conservation efforts, wild turkeys are back, roaming the fields and neighborhoods of Cape Cod. I saw a flock of 14 wild turkeys out my window the other day and they were in no hurry to get to their destination. In fact, they stopped a car and made the driver wait for several minutes as they crossed the street. One. By. One. It took awhile. Here's a screen grab from a video I took of the birds out my window. I posted this to Instagram and loved the comments that followed.
@nsgallery OMG. @gr8fulhz Omg I'm speechless.... @westr Pretty sure they belong to the Puritans, one block over. And my favorite, @audreyrouget Do they not know it's November? They look so....relaxed. Thanks Instagram friends, for making an already comical event in my yard even funnier. And thanks to the featured performers themselves. They add another layer of off-season interest to the Cape.
